Frédéric Frappart received his Master degree from ENSIETA (now ENSTA Bretagne) and his PhD from the University of Toulouse (under the supervision of Anny Cazenave and Frédérique Seyler). He did several post-doctoral works at ESS department at UC Irvine (with James S. Famiglietti), CESBIO (with Eric Mougin and Laurent Kergoat) and LMTG (with Marie-Paule Bonnet). He joined OMP as associate professor (physicien adjoint) in 2010 and INRAE as senior scientist (directeur de recherche) in 2022.
He was the coordinator of land surfaces applications of radar altimetry for Centre de Topographie des Océans et de l’Hydrosphère at LEGOS-OMP (2013-2021). He is coordinating the Centre d’Expertise Scientifique “Volume d’Eau de Surface des Plaines d’Inondation – VESPI” for Pôle Théia since 2017.
He is Editor in Chief of section “New Sensors, New Technologies and Machine Learning in Water Sciences “ of Water and Associate Editor of Frontiers in Earth Science for section “Hydrosphere”.
