A new paper led by our PhD student Joana Sauze on the role of pH on the carbonic anhydrase (CA) activity in soils is currently under review in Biogeosciences discussion. This paper demonstrates that soil pH is one of the most important environmental factors to influence CA activity in soils and its associated CO2-H2O isotopic exchange rate. It is a new step towards a better understanding of how soil CA activity varies spatially and modifies the atmospheric budget of CO2 and CO18O. For more details just click here!
