Fabulous afternoon of scientific discussion with Maximilian Larter from INRA, BIOGECO and the rest of the jury (Amy Zanne, Jerome Chaves & Jordi Martinez-Vitalta). The jury was tough but Max responded brilliantly to diverse questions on the the evolution and measurement of cavitation resistance in conifers. Look forward to reading the forthcoming pubications.
